Nanotox research is replete with gaps

Nanoparticles have a range of uses, but could also be dangerous to human health. Unfortunately for would-be regulators, the field of nanotoxicity research, which studies those risks, suffers from multiple gaps. The good news is that standard reference carbon nanotubes being developed by NIST may help. See my article for Nature.
